Andrejs Avots-Avotins, MD, PhD Chairman, Scott & White Board of Directors Professor, Department of Medicine Dr. Avots currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Scott & White Clinic. In addition, he is the Vice President of the Scott & White Health Plan Board of Directors, First Vice President of Scott & White Healthcare Board of Trustees, and a member of the Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital Board of Directors, as well as an Associate Professor of Medicine for the Gastroenterology Division of the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center.
Glen Couchman, MD Chief Medical Officer Scott & White Healthcare In conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer of Scott & White Healthcare, Chief Medical Officer Glen Couchman, MD, is responsible for the strategic direction, operations and financial results for the system's 12 hospitals and 65 clinic locations.
Joining Scott & White's Department of Family and Community Medicine in 1982, Dr. Couchman has dedicated 30 years to clinical service. He assumed administrative roles in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, including chairman both at Scott & White Healthcare and at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. He was named chief medical officer of Scott & White Healthcare in 2010.
Board certified in family medicine and earning undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Iowa, he completed a medical residency program at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Couchman served on the Scott, Sherwood and Brindley Foundation (now Scott & White Healthcare Foundation) Board of Trustees for 10 years.
Patricia Currie, Chief Operating Officer, Scott & White Healthcare In conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer of Scott & White Healthcare, Ms. Currie is responsible for the system's 12 hospitals and 65 clinic locations and has oversight of strategic direction, operations and financial results.
Before joining Scott & White in 2004, Ms. Currie held positions as CEO of HCA Spring Branch Medical Center, COO/CEO of HCA Rosewood Medical Center and clinic administrator for Macgregor Medical Clinic. Ms. Currie holds a bachelor of science in management from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and a master's degree in healthcare administration from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She is a fellow with the American College of Healthcare.
Paul Dieckert, MD Chief Quality Officer, Scott & White Healthcare Dr. Dieckert leads systemwide quality and safety programs at Scott & White. A vitreoretinal surgeon, he served on the board of trustees of Scott & White from 1996 to 2009. He is the former chairman of the board and chief of staff of Scott & White Clinic, and founded and led the Scott & White Executive Education Program. A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Dieckert has served as program director in the Department of Ophthalmology, vice chair of the Department of Ophthalmology, and division director of vitreoretinal surgery.
Allan Einboden CEO, Scott & White Health Plan Passionate about making great health care affordable for everyone, Mr. Einboden became the President and CEO of Scott & White Health Plan (a 230,000-member health plan) in 2004. His commitment to truly integrated care has directed his career and the fertile soil of Scott & White Healthcare has been the perfect place to innovate.
Mr. Einboden's leadership has helped Scott & White Healthcare develop programs that bring the health system's unique brand of care to new populations including Medicare Part D, Medicaid, children-only policies and innovative employer solutions.
Innovation is part of the culture of Scott & White, which has enabled Mr. Einboden to implement population health programs that have benefitted vulnerable populations only possible within an integrated organization. Mr. Einboden holds a bachelor of science in management from the University of Nevada, Reno, and an MBA from the University of Arizona.
Robert Probe, MD Chairman, Department of Orthopaedics Scott & White Physician Board of Directors Over the preceding three decades, Dr. Probe has experienced the Scott & White System as a Medical Student, Resident, Faculty Member and most recently, Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics. In 2008 he was elected by his colleagues to the Scott & White Board of Directors.
In addition to his Scott & White administrative roles, Dr. Probe is clinically active as an Orthopaedic Traumatologist while serving outside of the organization as President of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. He holds both a bachelor of science and MD degree from Texas A&M University.
Robert Pryor, MD, MBA President and CEO, Scott & White Healthcare Before assuming his current position, Dr. Pryor served as president and CEO and chief medical officer of Scott & White. Earlier in his career, he served as chief medical officer at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. A graduate of Baylor University, Dr. Pryor received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch and earned his MBA from Arizona State University. He is a board-certified pediatrician, a published author, and a lecturer.
James Rohack, MD Director, Scott & White Center for Healthcare Policy A member of the Scott & White organization since 1986, Dr. Rohack also holds the William R. Courtney Centennial Endowed Chair in Medical Humanities at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, where he is professor of internal medicine and humanities.
A former president of the AMA, he has influenced national policy serving on numerous national boards and commissions. Dr. Rohack is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and earned his MD at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
