2018 HealthLeaders Media Revenue Cycle Exchange

March 21-23, 2018  |  Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

Break away from the office to join your contemporaries on the sunny Florida coast for a thought leadership event for executives in charge of revenue management. HealthLeaders Media is hosting a peer-to-peer roundtable forum that enables leaders to discover best practices to apply to their healthcare organization. Members participate in small-group discussions in which they share insights and ideas to address chief challenges specific to revenue cycle activities.

What Is Involved:
In roundtable discussion groups, participants address concerns and share insights and ideas that provide solutions to challenges they are facing in today’s rapidly changing healthcare arena. Executives discover best practices to propel their organizations to advanced levels of efficiency and success. HealthLeaders editors moderate the roundtables, which include 10-12 people each and cover issues executives have expressed as top concerns.

Roundtable 1: Collect Every Dollar from Payers;
Roundtable 2: Engaging Patients as Financial Partners

Roundtables

Pressure to capture every dollar is intensifying as payers design more ways to prevent or prolong reimbursement and patients struggle to understand their plans, know their financial options, or meet their deductibles. The onus rests with revenue cycle leaders to devise innovative methods for reducing denials, fine-tune their operations to avoid errors and inefficiencies, build relationships with clinicians to perfect documentation, and involve and educate patients about their responsibility.

Roundtable Session 1: Collect Every Dollar from Payers

  • New approaches to maximize reimbursement
  • Fresh strategies for reducing denials; revenue integrity opportunities to unearth lost revenue; effective ways to address DRG audits with payers
  • Optimizing revenue cycle processes; integrating coding and billing services within a system; building centralized scheduling
  • Elevating physician relationships to improve clinical documentation
  • Risk adjustment and managing the ACO population from a revenue integrity standpoint
  • Segmentation and using artificial intel with payer methodologies by codes and diagnoses
  • Contract compliance and reimbursement to know you’re being fully paid for what was contracted

Roundtable Session 2: Engaging Patients as Financial Partners

  • Refining the patient experience to facilitate payment
  • Fostering easy payment, such as consolidated statements and self-pay strategies
  • Improving patient relationships by providing education, pricing transparency and cost estimates, setting up payment plans and terms, offering discounts or a finance option
  • Determining eligibility for Medicaid or other assistance for uninsured
  • Front-end tools to assist registrars with insurance verification; determining patients’ ability to pay
  • Simplifying charge description master (CDM) structures and reengineering charging methodologies to be more patient-friendly and make it easier to administer in billing systems
  • Improving pre-service and point-of-service collections and ramping up success on low-cost, high-volume copays/deductibles
  • Developing patient-centered coordinated communications
